Thanks to
@NEW for the prompt of the crocodiles.
Lily sprinted. The air hung thick and stale. The passage warping around her like a funhouse reflection. Gasping, she burst into a clearing.
The familiar sight of their campsite came into view. As she walked to her family tent, a guttural snarl froze her. Three crocodiles emerged from the pond with eyes glowing malevolent red.
Lily's scream echoed through the night. This time, familiar strong arms enveloped her to safety. It was her father's.
Her mother asked, "Lily, are you alright?"
Lily cried in relief, warm and real, within her parent's hug.
The crocodiles were confused. Then a gruff voice boomed, "Crikey! Not tonight, ya scaly buggers!"
A figure wielding a machete stepped in. It seemed even nightmares couldn't resist the cheesy charm of... The Crocodile Dundee.
The End.
