Did you go? I went years ago over Lake Tahoe. Unfortunately the day the group decided to go I was ill, and couldn't really enjoy the view and had to surreptitiously repeatedly get sick over the side...the crew knew, but most of the group didn't notice. It was still an experience to remember, just not exactly how I had envisioned it.

"If it weren't for bad luck, I wouldn't have luck at al"  That's a bit grimm, but oh boy how much bad luck can you get. Going with a balloon above the most impressive landscapes, being sick. ahhhhh 
I'm so sorry for you and hope you get the chance (a gift of a rich person ;)) to do it once more and enjoy it enormous.  👍 😊 

I actually signed up to crew for a local balloon team in the town I was in at one point after that but then kept missing the openings; In a way, my experience was memorable like it never would have been otherwise. More recently a neighbor nearby actually has a balloon, and sometimes on a calm not-too-hot-summer-afternoon (the  ac isn't on and the window is open) or early evening one hears the distinctive sound of the gas and/ air as the balloon is further filled and their balloon rises above the woods that separate us and one can watch them float  up over us and away; all the neighbors run out to watch it off and the kids are waving. There's also a balloon fest in another city's airport not far off that I could buy a ride, just haven't yet, so far; my sister attends the fest with her in-laws but I don't usually go.
