"The Picture of Dorian Gray" is a philosophical novel by Oscar Wilde, first published in 1890. It tells the story of a young man, Dorian Gray, who, after having his portrait painted, makes a Faustian wish that his portrait would age and bear the consequences of his actions while he remains eternally youthful.
