I grew up on a 40 acre farm. No cows, but did have a goat, ducks, horses. So some of my happiest memories are a lot along the lines of this image. 💜 Most definitely an uglier side to it, though, which is very sad.

Yes, the ear tags...nowadays there is hardly a picture left, let alone a living cow without them, that was the reason why I didn't remove them. If it were "just" the earmarks...Protest title sums it up quite well, life on a farm is rarely romantic or idyllic, existential fears and factory farming...but those wouldn't be nice images for this platform. Memories of a happy childhood, the feeling of freedom and carefree... it's important to remember them again and again! My grandma lived in the village, where I was surrounded by goats, dogs, horses and geese. We could play in the forest and by the river and all without supervision... I wonder how we were able to survive that 😂

Children have the remarkable advantage that when they fall, they bounce. When we get old, we don't bounce. We crack. 😂 Afraid I raised my son pretty much the same way I was raised, letting him walk by himself half a mile to school when he was in 1st grade. Hopefully he won't get arrested if he raises his kids similarly. 💜
