Many don't know that it was Lucille Ball who as President of Desilu, the company she founded with ex-husband Desi Arnaz-- gave the greenlight for the new science fiction show called Star Trek.  

Although she certainly deserved to be commissioned as an admiral, one photo was created that depicted her in the red miniskirt worn by Lieutenant Uhura of the original Star Trek.  I don't remember ever seeing a woman wearing command colors like Captain Kirk's yellow-green.  So I asked that Admiral Ball would wear a command uniform from Star Trek: The Next Generation.
