The warm metallic tang of blood, so foreign yet strangely invigorating, lingered on her tongue. The human, so pathetically weak, had offered little resistance. Its screams, though brief, had been… unpleasant. Elara wiped her mandibles with a disdainful flick of her tongue. Another meal, another notch on the tally of her hunt. The city, a sprawling nest of warm bodies, offered endless possibilities. Tonight, however, a strange restlessness stirred within her. A yearning for the cold, dark void of space, for the silence that only the stars could offer.
