“Singing?” Carter asked.
“There was a scuffle at the demonstration, several villagers came under the Lady’s influence,” replied Larkin. “By the way, we’re sending a flower through in a hazmat container. The Lady was using it to spread Nish’ta to the people. We’ve never seen anything like this before. We’ve been Zatting people and that seems to cure them.”
“Stand by.” A few seconds later, Carter spoke.
“Alright. Telford is in position. Send away.”
“Sending,” Larkin said. A few seconds later, Carter replied.
“Received. I’ll have Doctor Brown analyze it immediately. Concerning the Lady, that is disturbing.”
“Helena and Fairbairn are planning to go confront her tomorrow. Bjornson and I will provide cover fire. Can you send me a bow? I might have to fire a tranquilizer dart at her if she activates a shied from her Kara Kesh.”

“Not yet. I don’t want to escalate things further,” Larkin replied. “We should be able to hold off any forces with just us eight.”
“I’ll have SGs 4, 8, and 11 on standby. And I’ll have the Aurora get under way.”
“How did the Aurora fair in the battle with Hallam’s forces?” Fairbairn asked, With a tone of concern in her voice.
“And the Alpha Site?” Inquired Bjornson, who had the same tone of concern as Fairbairn. “How did it fair?”
“They came in with a Ha’tak and three Lucian Alliance ships,” she said. “Made a very convincing show of preparing for orbital strike.”
Bjornson’s brow furrowed. “But they didn’t follow through.”
“No,” Carter said. “Because that wasn’t the objective.” A brief pause. “Apollo and Aurora engaged immediately. The Ha’tak was destroyed. One Alliance ship was taken out. The other broke off and jumped.”
