anya, wizard’s beloved princess (a barn owl)

because every prince must have a princess, wizard has anya - a gentle, loving, quiet female with unsurpassed beauty like that of his own. she is his joy and his comfort; the citizens of the town always notice that he is much more active and vocal when anya is around. yet, anya has not simply won the heart of her mate, but of the townspeople, for once, when she was but a small owlet, a little boy found her abandoned in his backyard, left there by her mother. the boy and his family raised her as their own, and soon enough, many other families were helping care for anya. when she was old enough and strong enough, the people released her to the wild, wishing that she would have a wonderful life. so far, she has - and she has never left the town where she was raised in. still very friendly towards humans, anya visits her old family almost every day, where she is welcomed home with open arms.
