Finn, perpetually stuck in baseball purgatory, shuffled up to the plate, his batting average about as lucky as a black cat crossing his path. But today, his friend, Maya, winked and slipped a four-leaf clover into his hand.
Feeling a surge of… something, Finn swung like a man possessed. The crack of the bat echoed through the stadium as the ball soared, a majestic white comet disappearing into the bleachers.
Finn, stunned, stood there like a statue as his teammates mobbed him. "Home run, Finn! You actually did it!"
Maya, beaming, pointed at the clover still clutched in his sweaty hand. "See? I told you it was lucky!"
Finn grinned, sheepishly tucking the clover into his pocket. He winked at Maya. "Thanks, Babe. Looks like I might need a few more of those clovers for the next game."
