We saw a beach out East one winter that this reminds me of....  Marshmallow ice covered stones....

At least in Finnish this would be called pancake ice. Though it would be a shame to pour maple syrup on it. 

Ha ha!!!! Some of us had a tradition on our community farm to lick all the maple syrup off our plates so it wouldn't be wasted!!!!
