Joshua Trevelyan befriended a Spirit of Hope during his Harrowing. The two of them grew close as friends and she taught him to respect The Fade and it's denizens. She even taught him about history, philosophy and most importantly, how to speak and read Elvhen. Naturally, Cullen was unnerved by this, but he warmed up to Josh anyways.

Fen'Harel was intrigued by the young man. He was not like any human he had met before. He was a pariah, like the Dread Wolf himself.

Maybe, just maybe- He was the kindred soul- the friend the Dread Wolf desperately needed to prove him wrong.
