And here we are with the proper intention for this scene. This is a story I call "Spiderman: Blackout". It starts like most symbiote Parker storylines. But by coincidence, at the same time as he links up with Venom, he also meets Black Cat for the first time, who's his age this time. The whole story is Peter confronting his new feelings for her and Venom's influence. Until by the end of the story, there's an equal split. Felicia has been redeeming herself by helping Peter keep Venom in check, and Venom himself has also settled down a bit. While Spidey isn't ok with killing, he won't stop Felicia, even if she's an anti-heroine by now. And Venom does come out to play every now and again, but in a controlled fashion. No hidden agendas, no unnecessary beating up Peter, no funny writer pulling a "Paul situation"
