Yep. Her name is a pun actually. It literally means "Mistress Maro the Fox". Alopix is the ancient Greek word for "fox" and "Kyra Maro" means Mrs. or Mistress Maro (after Maria). It's a name often given to foxes in children's fairytales. 

A bit of real life culture! I have an urge to look up what ancient Greek sounds like and have a listen.

A member of the Court of Nobles on her homeplanet Vulpecula, a world of "provolved" animals (although the term is considered extremely insulting and inappropriate nowadays), Lady Alopix is a wise, educated and kind, yet cunning and strategic, ambassador. She often functions as a counselor for many of the Galactic Confederation's personnel who often seek out her wise advice, as well as her humor, warmth and accessible manner.
