Georges Lacombe (1868 β 1916) was a French artist known for his work in the Nabis art movement. His art style was a combination of Symbolism and Post-Impressionism, and he was particularly influenced by Paul Gauguin. Lacombe was renowned for his sculptures, earning him the nickname 'Le Nabi sculpteurβ. He often worked directly in wood, creating Symbolist works characterised by a naive technique. His paintings, characterised by simple forms and pure colours, often depicted landscapes. Later in his career, he was influenced by ThΓ©o van Rysselberghe and began painting landscapes in a pointillist manner, later moving to a more Impressionistic style.
A charming image of a cat nestled on a pillow amidst a floral setting, illuminated by tiny heart-shaped lights. Evokes a Symbolist and Post-Impressionist aesthetic.
