Speed West Racing, Episode 1.43D: Michele's Lesson Concludes

Rhonda: "I really felt it on that last curb--the car popped up and bounced some. Not good, not smooth, right?"

Michele: "Yes, and you're right. The car popped up. That's the tires off the ground, off the ground means no traction, and no traction means no control for a split second. I don't like it and avoid it. When Sabi does it, it's a compromise of losing that moment of speed and traction in order to keep her racing line from being taken."

Rhonda: "The same thing with sliding the car?"

Michele: "Right. It's not a matter of 'don't ever.' It's a matter of having a good reason to do it and making a calculated trade-off. It shouldn't be a result of just being untidy and lax with your steering line. Be aggressive, but don't be undisciplined."

Rhonda: "Aggressive, but not out of control."

Michele: "Right. Just like your stunt driving."

Rhonda: "Ohhh, right! Look wild, but don't be wild."
