Earth has grown silent. No reply to our radio calls, no supply vessel. The blue planet, once so vibrant, is now just a faint dot in the vast black void, yet it looms large in our thoughts. Was this silence a deliberate decision by those we left behind? Before our departure, debates raged about the costs of the moon program—was it deemed unjustifiable? Or has something catastrophic occurred, rendering Earth unable to respond?

Political tensions were escalating before we left; could they have erupted into nuclear war? The climate was already unraveling—droughts, floods, and storms becoming more frequent—but could such extremes truly silence an entire planet? I don’t know which possibility is more painful: a planet-wide conspiracy to abandon us or a catastrophe that leaves all of Earth incapable of even communicating with us.
