Hesitation

As she stood at the edge, she wanted to go further. The water lapped at the toes of her boots. The ocean looked so inviting, yet she was completely unprepared for this moment. Before she walked across the beach and down to the edge of the water, the thought of swimming had seemed impractical. But now as she stood at the edge, thoughts of how to handle the aftermath raced through her mind. Was she really going to do this? She still wasn't convinced. What would it feel like? She was intrigued yet still hesitant. How do I explain if I do? Did she really care what anyone else would think? These were all spinning around in her thoughts as she took a few steps forward into the water.
