And what is the point of all of this? Just to say that it will offer a little bit of resistance. Everyday of walking it, every night of walking it, is never the same. There is always a different house, barn, fork, curve, vehicle passing, old things, new things, unknown things, histories and mysteries...because this road of my life does not allow for retracing any of it except for the memories. And the people meet you and pass, some you catch up to and pass, and some catch and pass you too. They are the most explicit memories of all that can be. I am old enough now to see the road has an end...Just a few more hills and valleys, and it will not stop. But it will be where I stop, my life stops, and the memories of me held by any recording device or human being stops. It's not that far away now, I can see something up ahead, some thing I have never seen before...it is so beautiful that I want to run to it.
But I cannot run anymore, I am too old and in poor health...So...I will fly to it.
