Seems like a similar problem I have when I generate art with people.  Their fingers tend to look ridiculous for some reason.  I suspect the AI will get better.

It’s not just stable diff - I’ve had janky AF results trying for even a mostly correct dino with each new AI model in turn! You can’t really find a more commonly known dinosaur than Velociraptor besides T. rex, and I’ve already been through the wringer trying for a tyrannosaur of some kind. 

Interestingly, the raptors in Jurassic Park (Late Cretaceous Park if we’re going by the epoch raptors lived in, lol pedantry) are not V. mongoliensis - according to both the shape and size of the animals onscreen as well as the testimony of the production executives they are based off of another dromaeosaurid, my favorite raptor Deinonychus antirrhopus, which means “terrible claw, counterbalanced” in reference to the greatly-oversized, nasty-looking sickle claw as well as the stiffness of dromeaosaur tails, which were held aloft at an angle for stability. They thought Velociraptor sounded cooler than Deinonychus, and so they changed the name but kept the critter the same in its physical aspects.

Lll I like your thinking haha! It’s neat that you put asteroids plural cos not too many folks know about the newly discovered sibling craters to Chixculub. For anybody unfamiliar with the new fieldwork and subsequent research, it looks like it wasn’t a knockout in one go but rather a one-two-three punch, with two other truly gargantuan craters - albeit not as big as Chixculub - being found and temporally constrained to 66 million years ago plus/minus a million years. 

What we don’t know then is whether this was three fragments of a larger bolide which hit WHAMWHAMWHAM mere hours apart, or whether it was collisions with three separate bodies. If it’s three separate strikes, it’s possibly they are still pieces from the same larger rock, orbiting the same path but spread apart by 12 hours perhaps. This is waayyyyy more than enough time for Earth to move on from the line of fire; it would just result in the second and third strikes happening ten or a hundred or a thousand…

I mean really now, none of these are even dinosaurs, they’re twisted genetic freaks and abominations unto nature! Lol until AI can depict scaly versions of dinos like even moderately correctly I’m not even gonna start complaining about the feathers, or lack thereof; Velociraptor mongoliensis was fully-feathered and could likely even extend its leaps by flapping!

While the least realistic and least dinosaurian, I think I like these outputs the best actually - precisely *because* of how wild they are. Number 2 especially, I love it! Also the double eye sockets of number 3. And heck, number 4’s cute little overbite… they’re all of them pretty nifty!

Thanks . . . it's a little frustrating because I still don't know how to get more "realistic" artifacts. Even more frustrating, different images will get different parts "right" but screw up other areas. 

I'm currently running similar prompts here, at MidJourney, DALL-E, and Dream by WOMBO.

Meaning, anything you see here, has been run in the other AI engines. Like most things, each one has strengths and weaknesses, and I wish I could combine the strengths of each. 

Hence why I play with prompts, but due to time constraints, I'm not as methodical as I need to be for proper comparisons and advancing my understanding of what the various AI respond to.  

Meaning, right now, I'm still playing around to get a general gist of what does what.
