Damn these pirates on their islands! We should take the fight to them, rather than being preyed upon like bison harried by dogs! And damn this crumbling fortress! We should let the sea take it!
For nigh on twenty years I've guarded the shipping lanes between Haldyne and Quor. Every year we lose vessels to storms, to gods be damned pirate scum, but the trade must continue, and so my coastal watch goes about its rounds.
I think soon I shall take my retirement, perhaps I'll take ship meself all the way to Quor with its dusky black haired and black eyed ladies. I've spied the Obsidian Spire from sea, but never set foot.
My ship, The Emerald Drakynd, is fine but old, old and tired as I am getting to be. If only I could set blade and fire upon the pirateer The Seawolf, I could retire happily.
