I apologize for not getting to this challenge last night. I have been getting to bed earlier these days so the timing of these challenges is starting to catch me by surprise sometimes. Well done!  They're both excellent!  I would have had competition if you'd entered, though.  😉 

Thank you! But I've never figured out how people judge or rate entries in challenges - which is why I'm mainly not going to enter but occasionally. Even if I had entered my "Penelope" (I loved that Latin name given!! 😂), it doesn't mean yours wouldn't come up well above mine. I'd rather choose different things that interest me and make those images. No competition or stress to enter or judge in time given, though Eogon has always provided lots for us.

Right now, I've been busy with a bunch of things I'm trying to do - none of them vaguely exciting - and in the evenings when I want to relax, I prefer doing puzzles or reading (my first love). I need a nice long break from NC anyway except for dropping in briefly.

I don't understand the judging and rating, either.  Just chalk it up to the facts that  folks have different tastes.  I enjoy seeing your creations, but understand needing to take a break.
