“Drop the weapon!” Patrick Larkin cried, his M9 trained on Victoria.
“Drop yours first!” Victoria called from the bush, her Walther PPK equipped with a silencer trained on Patrick.
He recognized her first.
“Victoria Burney.” he paused. “Can it be?” he looked at her. It was her. “I recognize you. You took all those missions that no one would touch. Operation Airborne Dragon: you are a d@mned legend.” he paused. “I told General O’Neill he needed to talk to you. Told him you had potential.”
“Who the hell are you? Victoria asked. It took her a minute to recognize who it was. “Major Patrick Larkin? My old instructor at the at the Academy?”
The same, Patrick replied. “Victoria, you don't have to do this. You were made for greatness.”
I'm afraid I do,” Victoria replied. Her grip tightened around her pistol. But her voice trembled.
