A small lake within the Ivory Oasis, one of the Fourteen Deserts.

The Ivory Oasis is one of the smallest and the most sacred of the Fourteen Deserts. It is a mostly flat desert with white sands, many lakes, and many forms of fauna. It is home to the revered city of Irem, the home of the King-Under-the-Black-Star and the Black Star itself, which floats in stasis high above His central castle. Irem rests on a peninsula inside a large, crescent-shaped lake. The Seven Villages, which are each capitals of certain trades and skillsets, surround Irem on the opposite sides of the lake.

There is a large stone wall with four gates at the cardinal directions surrounding this Desert, and entry is generally only granted to distinguished individuals or those who have documents demonstrating their talent in certain skills, which they are allowed to hone in one of the Seven Villages. An exception to this is that orphaned children are always welcome to enter the Ivory Oasis, and are brought to live in Irem, where they are raised by members of the Priesthood.
