This is such an interesting piece! The tension of the two people being together yet also having such emotional/psychological distance from each other at the same time is palpable. This is especially true because of how the composition makes the viewer's eye switch back and forth between the dark and light faces. This belongs in a fine art gallery and with audience that appreciates emotionally resonant art, more so than the flash and spectacle of contest audiences. Very well done!
