A few bad business decisions... that's all it took--For your marriage to end, your bank account to be drained, and for you to be left sitting on a motel bed next to a box and a duffel bag full of the few of your belongings the bank didn't foreclose on. A friend offered to pay for the motel for a few weeks until you can find a new job. Just then, a knock at the door. You open the door to find an impeccably dressed young man who unlocks a large rectangular fine leather briefcase and produces an ancient yet well preserved portfolio which he hands to you. He says your name. "--I represent the maw firm of Viers-Bandis-& Brentwith. This is for you."
You look down at the portfolioand then back up to question the young man but he has vanished. You hear the elevator at the end of the hall "ding" in the distance.
You open the portfolio to find a stack of papers, an old journal, and a letter.
