In Stockholm, the morning commute now flies — just above the water. Nova, a Candela P-12, is the world's first electric hydrofoil ferry in regular public transport: foils lift its hull about a metre clear of the water, cutting drag by roughly 80%, halving the Route 89 trip from about 55 minutes to about 30, with carbon dioxide down about 94% against the diesel boats. AI-generated image, made for Merlin Dreams' Community post about the ferry that flies to work. It refuses to drag the hull — the water is still there, the distance is still there, but the part that cost all the energy is simply not being carried anymore.

After finishing their workday, Jenni and Giulia are busily preparing to run the New York Marathon this Sunday. Their registration has been confirmed, so they are set to put themselves to the test over the full marathon distance. Jenni completed the race last year, while Giulia has earned a finisher’s medal on several previous occasions. Benji and the twins will be cheering them on from the sidelines—and perhaps Aiyanna will be keeping an eye on her guardians, too. Given her current form, the 42.195 kilometers (26.22 miles) will likely be a breeze for Giulia; Jenni, however, faces the challenge of keeping her breathing under control—a difficult task, as Giulia is in such high spirits that she keeps cracking hilarious, laugh-out-loud jokes the entire time.

A striking image of two women training for a marathon in Brooklyn Park. One woman runs with a flushed face while laughing, the other runs alongside her in athletic wear.
