This is the first part of a series exploring rotoscoping and cel-shading. I want to bridge the gap between people who like the realistic robot look and people who like them to look animated, and cel-shading is how I want to achieve this. I don't always use the words cel-shading or rotoscoping in the prompt, but some other keywords seem to yield them too, and occasionally it just spits out cel-shading on its own.
Many people on NC who do sci-fi know that robots and mecha aren't very popular here. I want to test the idea that this is partly due to divisions in style preferences between those who like this material. If robot aficionados themselves can't agree on a style, very few robots will score highly even in sci-fi challenges, which is how it generally goes.
