Coutinho advances UK space power leadership

Energy Secretary Claire Coutinho this morning addressed a special Easter Monday press conference to confirm UK commitment to being first to operate a Space Solar Power Station. "An additional £6 billion is significant, but a modest investment if one considers the disastrous consequences of climate change," Ms Coutinho said. "We need to do everything possible to achieve net zero before 2050. Having an SSPS online in the next six years could bring that forward by as much as a decade."
Asked whether the announcement was merely a campaign stunt ahead of the general election, the Secretary responded: "While the objectives of the SSPS project remain similar to those proposed in 2022, the additional funding will put UK research and development well ahead of China's Bishan project. We choose to be the world leader not because it is easy, but because it is hard. We'd be foolish not to."

Very nice Image!!! I like Space Technolologies in Universe. It´s pitty, that I am bit old to be an Astronaut and enjoy no Gravitation and movement in open Space above planet Earth. I try in My next Life. 😃

I love this creation. Sometimes a joke is too realistic. We had an objection to a local solar farm and the objector was objecting on the concern about noise pollution. All the locals nodded their heads and said yes those things are so noisy we won’t be able to sleep (!)
This is a surprise, did not think it was yours, now have reflected on its position and below average score and the term sacrificial lamb comes to mind and now I think that is very noble of you. I hope I read you right
