The Cathedral of Ash! (Dark Fantasy)

The Setting: The lightless, cavernous undercroft of a ruined Gothic cathedral, buried entirely beneath a mountain of gray volcanic ash.

The Danger: The party must navigate in near-total silence, relying on hand signals and dim glow-stones. The crypts are filled with blind, sound-sensitive ash-wraiths, and the floor is littered with brittle bone-chimes that will trigger a cave-in if snapped.

The Surprise: Upon reaching the sealed reliquary to claim the "Holy Tear" meant to cure the wasteland, they find the artifact isn't a gem. It is a living, weeping celestial being chained to a siphon. The holy magic of the old empire wasn't a gift; it was being extracted by force.
