Thalia’s Unplanned Plunge

Thalia, the Hahnestery’s ever-whimsical housekeeper, had only meant to fetch water from the forest spring—until a misplaced step sent her tumbling into its icy embrace. Now, clad in her shiniest dress, she sat waist-deep in the creek, debating whether the Hahns would notice if she simply declared “bath time” an official duty. A frog perched on a nearby rock seemed to judge her. “Oh, hush,” she told it, “you’ve never accessorized with moss either.” As the water rippled around her, Thalia decided this was the perfect moment to ponder life’s great mysteries—like why socks vanish in the laundry, or if the Hahns’ teapot was secretly plotting world domination.
