Fragrance of Life

As Christ's hands and feet, Christians are called to be salt and light. Salt can heal physical maladies and Jesus wants us to help heal the world spiritually. Plague doctors were sent to bring healing to those who were dying with plague, and they filled their masks with flowers to purify the air they breathed in and to overpower the smell of death in the air, like the fragrance of life. "The 'fragrance of Christ' (2 Corinthians 2:14-15) refers to the spiritual influence and character of Jesus that believers radiate, acting as a pleasing, sacrificial aroma to God and a testimony to the world. It represents a life of obedience, love, and sacrifice that attracts those being saved while challenging those who are perishing."
