Raiden, also known as Rayden, is a powerful character in the Mortal Kombat series known for his mastery over lightning and thunder. He can channel electricity through his body and unleash powerful bolts of lightning as well as electric shocks. He can also summon thunderstorms that can damage his opponents. He can also levitate, fly and teleport. His abilities are not only limited to offense, he can also use his powers to protect himself and his allies by creating force fields, he can teleport his allies to safety, and use his powers to control time and space. He is considered one of the strongest characters in the Mortal Kombat series, due to his mastery over lightning and thunder.
