The Fallen House Vastask

Rulers of an insular domain they have ruled for many generations with an iron fist, given to spreading their influence through trickery, deception, and abuse of imperial law. They treat their citizens as little more than serfs. Despite their brutality in their own territory, the Vastak nonetheless feared House Cossais as a rival who might compete for the imperial throne once the reigning emperor passes, and so forced a 'marriage pact' with a Cossais scion in violation of his current marriage. This over-reach ultimately led to the fall of the House Vastak.
