“Climbing,” said Falk.
“We’ll manage,” said Gyrfalon.
Falk nodded.
It took the two mighty hawks three downbeats to come fully off the ground, but come off the ground they did. And then they climbed. Gyrfalon reflected that it helped that both he and his brother were so fit, and might translate the strength of their arms to wings. Without their gruelling training it would not have been possible. Gyrfalon bit off an urge to give a falcon’s scream of triumph, for they must be as quiet as possible, and hope to get inside the tower before Sebaceed even knew they were there.
