Shardharts are rare beyond reason — young ones even more so. Their heart-gems carry a living light, not for defense or display, but because it is simply what they are. They move through the fog like pieces of the dawn itself, and no hunter, no scholar, no king has ever claimed to tame one. They belong only to Loria, and perhaps to whatever old magic first taught the forests how to dream.
