Phoeras are beautiful, magical birds that bear a striking resemblance to the legendary phoenix. They emerge from the chrysalis left behind when a Phoelarch dies, hatching from a small black glass egg. Once hatched, a Phoera typically finds a comfortable, remote stretch of forest to nest. These birds measure around 7 feet long from beak to tail and weigh about 250 pounds.

Phoeras are highly territorial and will fiercely defend their chosen forest home, often setting it ablaze to deter intruders. Despite their fiery nature, they are not aggressive unless provoked. They prey on small mammals and generally shy away from larger creatures. In battle, Phoeras rely on their fire-based abilities, including a breath weapon that spews a line of fire and an innate heat aura that burns those who touch them.
