Thalia stood motionless among the towering ferns, her breath mingling with the mist that curled through the ancient forest. The air hummed with secrets, and for a moment, she could almost hear them—the whispers of the trees, the murmurs of unseen creatures. This was no ordinary woodland; it was a threshold, a place where time bent and reality blurred.

As she stepped forward, the ferns parted as if guided by an unseen hand. She had always felt a strange kinship here, as though the forest recognized her. Today, the connection was stronger, electric. A shadow flickered at the edge of her vision—something watching, waiting.
