Very beautiful and ethereal with a sense of danger and mystique
I don’t know how I would behave if I were in such a desperate situation as this; as Lemony describes so many times. Who would I shove back towards the fire to save myself? Who would I shove back towards the fire to save my sister? If I was trapped in a burning house with mortals, would it cross my mind that “They’re mortals, they were going to die anyway?” How long would it take a Purple Person to burn, given that clean decapitations take hours to kill us? Does it make a selfish person to save one’s own life over others, or does it simply prove that we are only animals, which we already knew, yet so rarely acknowledge? All I know is this: I have lost a library before, and if it weren’t for my courageous wife staying behind to save half of my books, the literary world would be very different today. What would I do, I wonder, to save the first draft of a book, since books are immortal, and people are not?
