The B1 Battle Droid Replacement that Went Rogue in 12 BBY

The Renegade Shadow Droid Faction was a large surplus group of Rogue Shadow Droids that went haywire against the Confederacy of Independent Systems on Geonosis in the year 12 BBY, during the Galactic Ceasefire.

Due to most of the CIS forces being stationed amongst the Border section of the galaxy over watching the Galactic Empire's presence, Geonosis was lightly filled with Droid forces giving the RSD the chance they needed to gain strong ground against the Separatist garrison on the planet.

They are also responsible for the massacres of multiple Earth Human settlements that were located in the military industrial sector of the planets, causing the deaths of almost 200 Earth Humans on the planet.
