As a Christian, I can tell you that this is distressing imagery and not what I'd want to see on a magazine, in case you're thinking of actually creating one. We honor Christ's sacrifice on the cross, but to see Him bloody like this is hard. Remember that this is the death of Someone we love. Although He rose to life again, since He is eternal, it was still horrifying and sad that He had to endure that for us. "For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." - Hebrews 12:2b I am so thankful to Jesus for His sacrifice, but every time I see Him depicted on the cross, it's emotionally hard.
Um, no. This is the catholic cross. The Christian protestant cross does not have said Jesus being butchered.
