Past and present collide as Carlos Vejar, son of Mike and Angelique Vejar arrives looking for Jon, he has been accused of a murder and asks Jon to investigate.

Dax accompanies Carlos to the Gulf of Mexico, and to the same spot from all those years previously, and while it is a different rig, its in the same location. Jon realises that the past is finally catching up with Dax and himself.
