Yeah this video leaves much to be desired to be honest. In the future I wouldn't be afraid of lower FPSs. 10 is still a believable animation and it will save you a lot of credits. And knowing the video will be abstract and inconsistent regardless I'd keep to the lowest iterations. And yes! be mindful of your motions, even no motion is still pretty cool by itself since the picture will still change in subtle ways. And don't feel too disappointed! Think of this as a learning experience! :)

Yeah the vids are tricky! IMHO, we should be able to edit after spending a certain threshold (one mulligan per 20+? credits) on a creation... That said, it's all part of the learning curve ;-P
