Habitat: Volcanic springs, geothermal vents, thawed basalt fields of Australis and Stormvault Peaks Description: Thermoshrubs are low-growing, stubby plants with thick, leathery leaves veined with glowing red capillaries. Their bark is coarse and obsidian-colored, and the plant’s base often nestles directly against warm rock or thermal vents, absorbing and storing geothermal heat. In bloom, they produce small, spicy-scented blossoms that give off faint warmth even in subzero air.
