On the surface, yes.  It's actually a tragic tale, and too long to retell here.  Rillian may be small, but he's made of magic and thus he is one of the few beings capable of inflicting actual harm on the Revenant King, who is immune to all mortal weaponry.

The evil undead King was responsible for the death of Rillian's parents.  Rillian is now the sole remaining Fey Dragon left on Turokea.  Lord Tulgarn sees an opportunity to prevent the possible slaughter of hundreds of foreign dignitaries attending his son's wedding.  He is forced to make a horrible choice - use Rillian's distraction to force the undead menace back into the hellscape within the mirror and save his guests, or save Rillian and possibly endanger his guests.
