Year 4919. Farstation, a rusting monument to a forgotten era, it clung to the decaying husk of the Cosmopolitan Cosmos like a barnacle on a beached whale.
Once, these custom built planets were the playgrounds of the galaxy's elite, each boasting its own unique wonder. Now, the once gleaming space stations were derelict hulks, their inhabitants scattered like dust in a dying solar system.
Farstation's last claim to fame was the Biodome: a terrarium holding the last remaining vintage Earth replica. Lush greenery and vibrant blue skies, a ghostly echo of a lost paradise, pulsed behind the observation dome.
Tourists, haggard space drifters with calloused hands and hollow eyes, paid exorbitant fees to peer into the artificial Eden. For a fleeting moment, they could escape the sterile metal cages of their new reality and breathe, however vicariously, the air of a forgotten home.
This museum relic, like a decaying amusement park, was a poignant reminder of humanity's humble origins.
