Rummaging through the cabin

They found a way into the cabin. It looked as if it had not been used recently. They were in luck and discovered several usable items. Under a bed they found a ranger’s outfit and Pipper changed into it quickly. More clothes were found in a chest. Again ranger clothing. This cabin clearly still was in use although the owner hadn’t been around lately. The pair felt bad about taking the ranger’s things but they had no choice. Julia also changed her clothes. They took what they could use and left the cabin. They made sure that nothing was left behind that could identify them and buried their old clothes in the woods.

Good thinking. Most people would think to burn the clothes, but smoke would draw attention.
yes, they don't have a lot of choice but to requisition what they need. Perhaps they will have an opportunity to pay for what they took later.
