As of 2005, the Grinch has been translated into 9 languages. Kirkus Reviews wrote 'Youngsters will be in transports over the goofy gaiety of Dr. Seuss's first book about a villain'. He also called it 'easily the best Christmas-cad since Scrooge'. In 2012 it was ranked 61st among the 'Top 100 Picture Books' in a survey published by School Library Journal - the 4th of 5 Seuss books on the list. All hail the Grinch!
