Tokoloshes are malevolent creatures, well-known throughout southern Africa. Some say they are invoked through powerful muti by someone who wishes you harm.
Raising your bed on piles of bricks (or similar) is the only practical way of preventing a tokoloshe from wreaking havoc at night until a sangoma is able to summon the support of your ancestors to drive it away.
