Went for a specific geologic feature here, this time an active volcano known as Mt Maraat. Named for the ancient civilization that once existed around the mountain, it's last major eruption is well known. The summit was completely obliterated, and the stream of ejected lava was so violent and high that the glow was seen for hundreds of miles away. After flowing nonstop for over a week, the area in a direct line from the flow was completely devastated, hardening into a deep, jagged river of obsidian. The area is only just barely recovering after a hundred years. Please enjoy this geologic wonder from a safe distance!
