In the distance, the drums of war echoed faintly on the wind, a grim reminder of the fierce conflict that raged beyond the city walls. The adversary lurked in the darkness, their presence a constant shadow that haunted Ibrienne's every thought.

Ibrienne knew that the path ahead would be fraught with peril and sacrifice, but she also knew that she could not stand idly by while her homeland was threatened.
